Scanner
-
It uses advanced sensors and proprietary algorithms to detect defects, anatomical features, and dimensional variations in the material. It offers analysis that improves quality and reduces waste.
High-precision defect recognition
Integrated analysis and optimization
Compatibility with cross-cut saws and sorting systems
Configurable for different wood types and surface conditions.
Wood types: pine, fir, eucalyptus, beech, oak, spruce, birch, oak, ash.
Wood and color defects: chemical stains, sapwood, light wood, blue, pink tint, resin pockets, splits at the head and tail of boards.
Calculations and evaluation: The estimated time for defect detection from start to cut position determination, optimization, and custom finishing is between 100 and 300 ms.
-
It allows you to optimize up to 9 different qualities, with dedicated formulas to maximize yield. The operator defines the qualities and the optimizer calculates the ideal combination to maximize each board.
-
It includes all the functions of the previous option and adds the ability to manage cuts to size for different qualities, with automatic sorting into dedicated boxes.
-
During loading, the longitudinal curvature is detected with an accuracy of 0.2 mm over lengths of up to 4 m. The data is used to ensure workpieces with maximum adjustable curvature (0.5 / 1 / 1.5 mm per metre).
-
A high-resolution camera system analyzes the head and tail of the cut wood. If pith or other defects are detected, the piece is automatically directed to the correct exit based on the programmed quality.
-
Designed to detect board curvature and optimize cutting based on part geometry. Suitable for high-throughput lines or more specific sorting processes.
Inline version: Measures longitudinal curvature. Ideal for continuous lines, it analyzes each board without slowing down the production flow. To be inserted at the scanner infeed.
Continuous reading of longitudinal curvature
Direct integration with optimizing cross-cut saws
High-speed processing
Longitudinal version: For detailed analysis of deformation along the entire length of the part. Longitudinal, transverse, and twist.
Precise 3-axis curvature measurement
Ideal for quality selection and pre-classification
Compatible with grading and sorting systems
-
It optimizes the longitudinal cutting of timber. It detects missing cracks and bark.
It optimizes cutting widths on Multilama machines using different algorithms.
3D reconstruction and surface inspection of wooden pallets
Our wood inspection system was published on the Balluff website.
NPX srl aimed to combine 3D reconstruction and surface inspection into an automated process. The goal was to adapt to different production speeds and different types of wood processed, thus promoting automation and reducing human intervention.
